The 2nd Annual Bridges Walk-A-Thon was held on Saturday, April 21. Forty-five intrepid student walkers and runners completed laps through our neighborhood and raised $15,000 for technology upgrades and talent development programs. Delicious food was generously provided by Bent Hansen of Los Gringos Locos, Oliver Goldsmith of the Daily Grill, Margaret Miller of Yummy Donuts and Kelly Kelley of Trader Joe's. The Robotics Team gave a demonstration of their award-winning 'bot and members of the Sustainability Project sold plants from their garden. Bridges' rock and blues bands, under the supervision of Kyle Wittlin and Don Peake, rocked the south lawn with music throughout the day. The 8th Grade emerged victorious as the class that collectively raised the most money for their school; they, along with the individual top student money-raisers as well as the students who completed the most laps, shared the Grand Prize -- two hours of gamer heaven in the Game Truck (see attached).
