Who is behind Bridges Academy’s Walk of Pride Campaign?
We are a group of parents, who believe in Bridges Academy’s program and know first-hand the positive impact it has had on our children. We have launched this Walk of Pride Campaign, as a way of giving back to the community and of supporting Bridges plans for the future through its Bridges Capital Campaign. With your purchase of a legacy brick, you will be permanently inscribed as a supporter of Bridges Academy and of its students. See below for listing of Walk of Pride Committee Members.
What are the details of the fundraiser?
The idea is simple: construct a brick pathway in the front of the current Dorm Building, which will become our “Walk of Pride.” Each family and community supporter will have an opportunity to express their support for Bridges future, and its Capital Campaign, by donating a brick to the “Walk of Pride.” These permanent legacy gifts will endure for years to come, and are a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion like graduation or to provide a lasting message from grandparents or others who are special to the Bridges community. As proud Bridges’ parents or supporters, we hope that you will participate.
Bricks are inscribed with your customized message and vary in size and price, as follows:
Personal message: 4” x 8,” up to 3 lines of text $250
Personal message: 8” x 8,” up to 6 lines of text $500
Personal message; 8” x 8” with a “Star” symbol and up to 6 lines of text $1,000
Business name or message: 4” x 8,” up to 3 lines of text $500
Business name or message: 8” x 8,” up to 6 lines of text $1,000
What will the funds from the Walk of Pride Support?
Funds raised through the Walk of Pride will support Bridges Capital Campaign, with a portion allocated to campus improvements like additional lunch benches and equipment for lunchtime activities for the 2012-2013 school year. Please help the Bridges Capital Campaign reach its Phase I Goal of raising $1.5M by December 2013, and help to provide funds for these limited campus improvements, with your support of the Walk of Pride.
The Bridges Capital Campaign seeks to raise a total of $3.5M by December 2015, for the purposes of supporting Bridges campus acquisition, campus improvements and further development of The 2e Center for Research and Professional Development.
How can we help?
Buy a brick! Encourage grandparents, alumni, business owners and others to buy a brick. Your generosity is very much appreciated. By buying a brick, you will be helping to secure Bridges plans for the future, while providing some immediate funds for campus improvements.
What can we inscribe in the bricks?
Here are some ideas:

- Honoring a graduating senior
- Commemorating a special occasion or birthday

Is there a deadline?
Yes, the deadline is August 3rd, 2012. The reason for the deadline is that the new Walk of Pride brick walkway is scheduled to be unveiled in the fall of 2012. Sufficient lead-time is needed to engrave the bricks and construct the walkway.
How do we purchase a brick?
There are three ways to purchase a brick:
- You can fill out the order form that came with the letter you received in the mail (or will be receiving shortly)about the fundraiser.
- You can download the Walk of Pride Order Form from this website and mail it with your donation to the address provided on the form.
- You may purchase online by using the online order option and pay using PayPal. Simply log on to Bridges Academy’s Giving Page at www.bridges.edu/giving, click on Walk of Pride Campaign, and select Place Your Order Through Paypal and follow the prompts.
How will the engraving appear on my brick what if I choose to include a “star” symbol?
All engraving is CAPITALIZED. The text will automatically be centered vertically and horizontally, unless you specify otherwise on your order form. If you chose to add a “star” symbol to your order, please draw a star in the first box on your order form, and leave 3 blank spaces before inserting your desired text. The online ordering system will ask you if you’d like to include a star symbol for an additional charge. The Star is the same size as a single letter.

Bridges reserves the right to review the text for appropriateness and decline any text deemed in appropriate or not in the spirit of the program. Bridges also reserves the right to relocate the Walk of Pride, and/or to refund your Walk of Pride contributions and cancel the Walk of Pride campaign, if it deems that insufficient funds were raised through the Walk of Pride Campaign.
